New Delhi:

Maharashtra Transport Minister Anil Parab appeared before the Enforcement Directorate on Tuesday in connection with the money laundering probe. He was questioned for 10 hours today and has been summoned again tomorrow.

The 57-year-old legislator reached the federal agency’s office in Ballard Estate at around 11:20 am, following which his statement was recorded under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

He was earlier summoned on June 15 but did not make a statement citing official work.

The investigation pertains to the alleged violation of provisions of Coastal Regulation Zone in the construction of a resort in the Dapoli beach area of Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra.

“I was called today. All questions have been answered. The Dapoli resort, which is reportedly mine, is not related to me,” he told reporters after the interrogation was over.

The financial crimes probe agency had raided the minister’s premises and those allegedly linked to him in May after a fresh case under PMLA was registered against him and others.

Shri Parab is a three-time Shiv Sena MLA in the Maharashtra Legislative Council, the upper house of the Legislature.
