IPL 2022: Auctioneer Hugh Adams collapses on stage

Auctioneer Hugh Adams collapsed in the middle of the stage on Saturday Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega-auction. He was taken to the hospital and the auction came to a halt temporarily.

While bidding for Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga, Adams collapsed on the podium.

According to an update from official broadcaster Star Sports, the auctioneer is “feeling better”.

“Auctioneer, Hugh Adams is feeling better and his health condition is being monitored. #IPLMegaAuction2022 will resume soon (sic),” Star Sports said in a tweet.

The auction started at 12 noon on the first day, Shikhar Dhawan became the first player to be sold (to Punjab Kings). 8.25 crore).

Suresh Raina, Steve Smith and Shakib Al Hasan were among the high-profile names that did not sell in the Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction on Saturday. However, these three names will appear in the auction again and they may find bidders in the quick part of the auction.

India batsman Manish Pandey selected by Lucknow Super Giants 4.6 crores. West Indies left-handed batsman Shimron Hetmyer bought by Rajasthan Royals 8.5 crores. India batsman Robin Uthappa was acquired by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for 2 crores.

England opener Jason Roy was bought by Gujarat Titans for 2 crores. Proteas player David Miller went unsold in the auction as there were no buyers for him, however, he could be picked in the quick auction which will take place later.

India opener Devdutt Padikkal sold to Rajasthan Royals 7.75 crores, while Suresh Raina and Steve Smith remained unsold in the auction. Chennai Super Kings pick West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo 4.4 crores.

Earlier in the auction, India opener Shikhar Dhawan was bought by Punjab Kings 8.25 crores. Spinner Ravichandran Ashwin bought by Rajasthan Royals 50 million. Australia’s Test captain Pat Cummins was picked up by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). 7.25 crores.

Proteas fast bowler Kagiso Rabada bought by Punjab Kings 9.25 crores. Kiwi pacer Trent Boult sold to Rajasthan Royals 8 crores. KKR picked Shreyas Iyer 12.25 crores. India’s fast bowler Mohammed Shami selected by Gujarat Titans 6.25 crores.

South African batsman Faf du Plessis selected by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) 7 crores. Lucknow Super Giants picks Quinton de Kock 6.75 crores. Australia opener David Warner selected for Delhi Capitals 6.25 crores.
