PBKS beat SRH to finish sixth in IPL points table

Punjab Kings ended their journey of the season with five wickets in just 15 overs against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday.

Batting first, Sunrisers Hyderabad were reduced to 157/8.

But it was never going to be enough as Liam Livingstone smashed an unbeaten 49 off 22 balls. He also hit the 1000th six of the edition.

Shikhar Dhawan And Jitesh Sharma also contributed brilliantly for the team as the target was chased down in just 15.1 overs.

Punjab Kings, who have not made it to the play-offs since 2014, finished sixth, while Sunrisers grabbed the eighth spot in the points table.

It was left to Romario Shepherd and Washington Sundar to take SRH past the 150-run mark with a sixth-wicket partnership of 58 runs in just 4.5 overs.

In fact, over 50 came off the last four overs as Nathan Ellis erred at length despite the two wickets he got in the bargain.

Ellis bowled a good hat-trick delivery which Bhuvneshwar Kumar could save from being run out in the very next ball.
