CSK needed 70 runs from the last five overs, after which Rayudu scored 23 runs in the 16th over bowled by Sandeep Sharma (1/40), hitting three consecutive sixes and a four.
But Arshdeep Singh conceded just six runs in the next over and turned to Punjab for eight runs in the 19th over.

Rayudu was dismissed in the 18th over. Kagiso Rabada (2/23), CSK still needed 35 off 13 balls and great finisher Mahendra Singh Dhoni (12) was joined by skipper Ravindra Jadeja (21 not out).
