IPL 2022: RCB wins the toss, opts to bowl first vs RR; Virat Kohli will open for Bangalore; Daryl Mitchell for Rajasthan

Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and elected to bowl against Rajasthan Royals at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on Tuesday, with Virat Kohli set to open for the first time in this IPL. Kohli has been battling form in his last game with a golden duck, which saw RCB suffer a massive defeat after being bundled out for 68 runs. RCB dismissed their misfiring openers Anuj Rawat and Rajat Patidar.

Rajasthan are third on the points table and are looking to make a comeback after consecutive wins and look for their sixth win of the season. He has also made changes in his XI with pacer Kuldeep Sen coming in for Obed McCoy, while Karun Nair favors New Zealand all-rounder Daryl Mitchell.

After winning the toss, RCB captain Faf du Plessis said, ‘We will bowl first. There will be a little bit of it in the beginning and we will try to take advantage of that tonight. You have to get over it (68), it’s just about getting to the playoffs, it’s not how you get there. One change for us – Silver comes in for Anuj Rawat with Virat going on top.
