Gautam Gambhir was taunted by fans who chanted ‘Kohli…Kohli’ during LSG’s IPL 2023 outing against Wankhede after Gambhir’s fight with Virat Kohli.

The coming together of Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir during the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Supergiants has become a topic of discussion not only in the cricket fraternity but also on social media.

Several former cricketers including Ravi Shastri, Sunil Gavaskar and Virender Sehwag on Monday reacted after the on-field tussle between Kohli and Gambhir and urged both the legends to come out in peace.

Nearly 48 hours after Lucknow’s 18-run defeat to RCB, after which Virat and Gautam Gambhir almost clashed and had to be separated by other bystanders, LSG squared off against Chennai Super Kings at the Ekana Stadium.

Fans were clearly not happy with the Kohli-Gambhir brawl and a viral video shows fans in Lucknow chanting ‘Kohli-Kohli’ mocking the Lucknow mentor. Gautam Gambhir’s reaction was also caught by the fans in a video going viral on social media.

With skipper KL Rahul injured during the clash against RCB, the 31-year-old has been ruled out of the IPL 2023 season and is set to clash against CSK on Wednesday.

Krunal Pandya led the LSG in the clash against Chennai and there was a brief delay in the contest due to rain. The home team lost five wickets early but after Ayush Badoni’s unbeaten 59 they reached 125/7 before the rain god decided to spoil the game.

Eventually, the match between Lucknow and Chennai had to be called off due to incessant rain and both the teams shared the spoils.

LSG returns to action on May 7 as they travel to Ahmedabad to take on Gujarat Titans, while Chennai Super Kings are set to renew their rivalry with Mumbai Indians on May 6 at Chepauk.
