Ishaan Kishan and Deepak Chahar were the two biggest winners IPL Two cricketers from Team India struck lucrative deals here on Saturday as the 2022 Mega Auction Day 1.

Kishan’s winning bid of Rs 15.25 crore from Mumbai Indians surpassed the Rs 14 crore figure that CSK offered to retain Deepak Chahar on Saturday.

The franchise made sense in the overall spending, but didn’t hesitate to loosen the purse strings for accomplished artists, especially Indians.

In US dollar terms, there were over 20 million purchases, the biggest ever in any IPL auction, with most of the beneficiaries being Indian T20 specialists.

It was a satisfying ‘pay day’ for all current Indian international players with Shreyas Iyer getting a staggering Rs 12.
25 crore deal from Kolkata Knight Riders and the multi-talented Shardul Thakur who made Delhi Capitals broke the bank with Rs 10.
75 crores.

Along with Kishan and Chahar, both of them were the top four buyers of the day.

“I’m really excited to be back in MI.
I know everyone there has treated me like a family so I am really happy to be there and I hope to give my best to the team.
Thank you very much,” 23-year-old Kishan said in a video posted on his Twitter handle.

Kishan, who made his India debut last year and has always been a Mumbai Indians player, has consistently performed well for the team.

Young pacer Pramik Krishna (Rs 10 crore) was paid big by Rajasthan Royals for his timely man of the series performance against West Indies, while another India regular Washington Sundar got Rs 8.
75 crores.

One of the big buys expected was fast bowler Avesh Khan, who was bought by Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 10 crore, the highest for uncapped players in IPL history.

Yuzvendra Chahali There will be little cross as he came late in the day and could get only Rs.6.
5 crores from Rajasthan Royals.

Even Nitish Rana, not an Indian regular but an IPL artiste, was retained by KKR for Rs 8 crore, while the uncapped Rahul Tripathi, who remained consistent in the league, made a much-deserved million dollar mark. 8 crossed Rs.
50 crores.

Shah Rukh Khan, another formidable domestic T20 finisher but who had a base price of just Rs 20 lakh, was roped in by Punjab Kings for a ‘mic-drop’ deal worth Rs 9 crore.

Rahul Teotia, the wonder of Rajasthan’s pre-season one, was bought by Gujarat Titans for Rs 9 crore.

It wasn’t an auction to remember for the old guard and only two over 35 players – Shikhar Dhawan (Rs. 8)
25 cr, Punjab Kings) and Ravichandran Ashwin (Rs 5 cr, Rajasthan Royals) got good deals.

among other seniors Mohammed Shami Gujarat Titans took it for Rs.
25 crores.
his new ball partner Bhuvneshwar Kumar got 4 rupees
6 crores from Sunrisers.

While this was the last mega auction, what was impressive was the discretion that franchises used while buying players as the focus was on the top Indian players available in the market and currently playing white ball cricket.

For Chennai Super Kings, the aim was to follow Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s blueprint and retain as much of their core base of players as possible, as they wait to buy back Deepak, who will be another multi-player for India. He was a skilled cricketer.

KKR retained eight of their top 11 players last season but still look short in the fast bowling department.

KKR didn’t do too badly as they picked Australian Test captain Pat Cummins 7 rupees
25 crores, which is less than half of what was paid to him in the last auction.

“We are very, very happy to have Pat Cummins back at that price.
We thought he would go higher,” KKR CEO Venky Mysore said.

“We couldn’t have been happier to have Cummins and Shreyas in the first round itself.
The heart beats a little more properly now, now we can have some fun with what else is going on,” he said.

While Cummins is the captaincy candidate, he would not be available during the first two weeks, even though Mysore did not want to commit to the captaincy.

He said, ‘As far as the captaincy is concerned, this decision will be taken by our coach and think tank.
We certainly have a solid choice between Cummins and Shreyas.
I am sure the think-tank will take the right decision.”

Franchisees do their homework

In the case of overseas recruits, the franchise focused on those who have shown themselves to be consistent performers in the previous IPL and with a reputation for doing well on the Indian track.

Like other years, none of the franchises impressed with performances in the Big Bash League, Caribbean Premier League and Pakistan Super League and focused only on those who can bring value during the IPL.

So is Wanindu Hasaranga, who is from Sri Lanka and is currently the world no.
1 T20 International bowler, Rs 10
75 crores while Nicholas Pooran of West Indies got the same amount from Sunrisers Hyderabad despite his poor performance in IPL last time.

England’s keeper-batsman found this reason Jonny Bairstow One rupee 6.
75 crore bid from Punjab Kings.

It was a matter of supply and demand and at what time of the auction were placed as the teams, except CSK (Dhoni) and Delhi Capitals (Rishabh Pant), did not have wicketkeepers.

Pooran is an optimistic buy as he can be disastrous on his day.

The conscience became clear when someone saw David Warner going for Rs.
25 crores.

It was a very good deal for Delhi Capitals and the same can be said about the newcomers to Lucknow Supergiants who have got a great player. quinton de kock 6 for Rs.
75 crores.

Very excited to buy David Warner.
I can’t believe we got such a legend for Rs.6.
25 crores.
with Warner and Prithvi Shaw Opening the batting, it will be an explosive start to every single innings of Delhi Capitals,” said DC co-owner Parth Jindal.

The lack of all-rounders meant that Jason Holder (Rs. 8)
75 crores) and Shardul would have attracted solid bids.

Jindal said, “We are very excited about Shardul because he can bowl in the powerplay and can also bowl the death overs.

His only dodgy buy is Mitchell Marsh, whose IPL career has been plagued with injuries and has been paid Rs 6.
50 crores amount could be a slight miss, considering that they cannot be played at No.
3, where he did an amazing job for Australia.

Among the domestic players, Riyan Parag’s Rs.
Royals retained 80 crores, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy performer Abhinav Manohar picked up Rs 2.
The 60 crore deal with Gujarat Titans was eye-catching.

South Africa’s Under-19 World Cup star Dewald Brevis, popularly known as ‘Baby AB’ with his batting style similar to that of AB de Villiers, was brought in by Mumbai Indians for Rs 3 crore.

Left-arm spinner and left-handed batsman Abhishek Sharma, fondly called by many as a ‘poor man’ Kunal Pandya‘ Got a whopping 6 bucks for a similar skill set.
5 crores from Sunrisers Hyderabad.

foreign fast bowlers in demand

Trent Boult The marquee came into the set and still fetched a million dollars (Rs 8 crore) for Mumbai Indians for his good performances over the years as Rajasthan Royals made an aggressive bid for him.

But when his New Zealand teammate and little pacer Lockie Ferguson reached the pace bowler’s set, he picked up the pedals at frequent intervals and Gujarat Titans, who didn’t have a good opening day, suddenly became active and charged him Rs 10 crore. Bought in

Josh Hazlewood’s exit will be a big deal for CSK as the Australian pacer will now play for RCB for Rs 7.
75 crores.

Another fast pacer, Mark Wood of England got 7 rupees.
5 crore from Lucknow Supergiants

Good deal bought by Lucknow Supergiants

While RCB settled their initial issue and captaincy with a bid of Rs 7 crore Faf Du PlessisLucknow Supergiants claimed Quinton de Kock for Rs 6.
75 crores.

Also, currently an out-of-sort Manish Pandey4 rupees
6 crores, not even a bad deal.

Lucknow, however, made a big bid for Krunal and got him a landslide victory for Rs 8.
25 crores.
His former Baroda stalwart Deepak Hooda was also taken by Lucknow for Rs 5.
75 crores.

Now it’s up to Lucknow’s mentor Gautam Gambhir, who knows a thing or two about volatile temperaments, to see that the team spirit doesn’t get hampered by the warring pair.

Pujara, Rahane, Ishant not hurt, Saha did not sell

three leading test experts Ajinkya Rahane, Cheteshwar Pujara And Ishant Sharma It was not at stake that day and it is understood that the franchises did not want to spend on players who do not bring value to the table with their T20 matches.

If anyone expresses interest they can come back on Sunday in the expedited bidding process.

Wriddhiman Co:Those who have been told that he will not be picked for the Test matches went unsold as the teams look to the 38-year-old Bengal wicketkeeper to come soon.

Umesh YadavFor his inconsistent white ball record, that too unsold and one of the real legends of IPL Suresh Raina It turned out that playing IPL only from IPL would not work as Chennai Super Kings did not bid for it.
similar to Steve Smith Which went unsold because there were no buyers.
