Iran submits ‘written response’ to nuclear deal talks – Times of India

Dubai: Iran on Tuesday said it submitted a “written response” to what it described as the final roadmap for restoring its broken nuclear deal with world powers.
Iran’s state-run IRNA: The news agency did not provide any details on the essence of its response, but suggested Tehran would still not take up the proposal for EU mediation, despite warnings there would be no further talks.
“The difference lies in three issues, with the United States expressing its verbal flexibility in two respects, but this should be included in the text,” the IRNA report said. “The third issue concerns the guarantee of continuity of (the deal), which depends on the realism of the United States.”
Tehran, led by staunch President Ibrahim Raisi, has repeatedly tried to blame Washington for delays in reaching an agreement. The deadline for Iran’s response was reported on Monday.
There was no immediate acknowledgment from the EU that Iran submitted its response. The EU has been intermittent in indirect negotiations.
from Washington, state Department spokesperson nedo worth Said the US would share its response to the EU.
“We agree, however, with the (EU’s) fundamental point, and that is that what can be negotiated has been negotiated,” Price said.
He said Iran was making “unacceptable demands” by going beyond the text of the 2015 nuclear deal, in which Iran substantially limits its enrichment of uranium in exchange for lifting economic sanctions.
“If Iran wants these sanctions to be lifted, they will have to change their underlying conduct,” Price said. “They will need to replace the dangerous activities that led to these restrictions in the first place.”
