Kerala suffered a setback when Ayush Adhikari was dismissed in the 70th minute after seeing the second yellow card.
NorthEast United added Deshorn Browne in place of Marco Sahanek, who made a comeback in the squad, but went 2-0 up to add to the plight of the Kerala Highlanders. Vazquez scored a sensational goal, driving the ball close to the half-line and pulling Roy Chowdhury out of his line, to send a curling effort that went into the net.
