Hyderabad FC topped the Indian Super League points table for the first time in league history when Javier Siverio scored a stoppage time equalizer to deny ATK Mohun Bagan all three points at the PJN Stadium in Fatorda, Goa.
At the start of the match both the teams got a chance to go on top of the points table. While ATK Mohun Bagan needed a win, a draw would have been enough for Nizam to trounce Mumbai City FC.

It was a dream start for the Mariners as David Williams (1′) put the Mariners in front by scoring the fastest goal in ISL history before top scorer Bartholomew Ogbeche (18′) brought Hyderabad FC back into the competition in 2021-22. Eventually, a Joni Cauco header that was assisted by Ashish Rai (64′) in his net put Juan Ferrando’s men on their way to victory but Severio had other ideas.
The draw meant Hyderabad FC topped the ISL table with 16 points just ahead of Mumbai City FC as ATK Mohun Bagan finished third by a margin of one point.
Williams, who returned to ATK Mohun Bagan’s starting line-up in place of Roy Krishna for this match, opened the scoring after just 12 seconds as his left foot struck at the end of a free-flowing passing move Laxmikant Kattimani at Hyderabad FC. Overtook. Target despite laying hands on it.

As the two teams began to cancel each other out, the game turned into a tactical battle.
The match had to be stopped in the 40th minute when Carl McHugh was injured on the pitch. After a long delay, the Mariners midfielder was taken to an ambulance as he was struggling to breathe after injuring his neck. However, the post-match update on him is that he is fine after being taken to the hospital as a precaution.
The game resumed in a stoppage time of eight minutes and the half that stretched almost to the hour mark ended with a score of 1–1.
Juan Ferrando throws Lenny Rodrigues in place of Deepak Tangri for the second half. At the start of the second half there was nothing to choose between the two teams as both the teams had half chances which neither of them could take.
Manveer Singh then came close in the 63rd minute with a shot from the right that went wide but was covered by Kattimani.
Williams who struck a blow in the first half again showed his quality as he pierced through the Hyderabad FC backline to set up Cuoco on a loose ball, whose header was struck by Rai for his own goal in the 64th minute. He was thrown into the net. ,
Rai, however, improved after about five minutes when he scored. Amarinder put it almost straight into Ogbeche’s path as the Mariners cleared the threat.
ATK Mohun Bagan should have added a third in the 71st minute when Liston Colaco, who received a clever backheel from Williams, was through on goal, but he widened his shot with just the goalkeeper to score.
Hyderabad FC came close to leveling the score when Rai cut inside the flank and supplied a cross for Setiasen Singh, whose header was to save Amarinder from nine minutes’ time.
Ferrando made a defensive change to bring in Subhasish Bose for Colaco, but it did not prove effective as substitute Siverio equalized with a well-taken header in the second minute of stoppage time.
There was not enough time for the winning goal as Marquez’s men went on to top the ISL table for the first time in their history.
ATK Mohun Bagan are back in action on Saturday as they face Odisha FC while Hyderabad FC take on Kerala Blasters FC in another top-of-the-table clash at Hero ISL on Sunday.
