ISL 2021-22: Rafael Crivellaro Out Of Action For 4 Weeks, Chennaiyin FC I Second Straight Win

Breathtaking Chennaiyin FC will be aiming for a second straight win over NorthEast United FC without a win in an Indian Super League match here on Monday. CFC started their campaign in the ISL 2021–22 with a 1–0 win over Hyderabad FC, while the Highlanders have lost one and drew the other in the two matches they have played so far.

However, in a blow to the two-time champions, they will be without the services of influential mid-fielder Rafael Crivalero, who will be out of action for four weeks due to injury. “Rafael Crivellaro has a muscle injury. The club said on its website, the Brazilian will be out for four weeks while he continues his rehabilitation with the medical team.

CFC head coach Bozídar Bandovic will hope that Vladimir Koman, who plays the role of Crivalero, will continue to work for the team. Regarding Crivalero’s absence, the coach said, “Rafa is an important player, a good player. Now that he is injured. We have to watch others who are playing…we have to keep working without them.

“We cannot depend on one player. The role of Kaman is important. Every player has an important role. We will do our best during rehab to get Rafa back as soon as possible.” CFC, who have struggled to score last season, have started fresh on a positive note and will hope the team continues the good work. Koman, who scored the all-important goal in the win over Hyderabad, said, “I am always confident. With the first win, I expect other players to be more confident. It’s always good to score in the first game. And when a team wins, there is double satisfaction.” NEUFC, which made a resounding 2-4 start at the hands of Bengaluru FC, held Kerala Blasters to a goalless draw in the second match.

Coach Khalid Jameel will be hoping he can find the net after missing a few chances in the game against the Blasters. The forward line which includes Deshorn Brown and Federico Gallego can give a tough time to any defense and the coach will expect them to break through against Chennaiyin.

Furthermore, the Highlanders’ defense was not at its best against Bengaluru before it was against Kerala, and would need to step up against Chennaiyin, who would like to retain the winning run. The match will start at 7.30 pm Indian time.
