SC East Bengal player Antonio Perosevic has been charged with “violent conduct against a referee” by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) following a red card incident during their ISL match against NorthEast United FC on 17 December.

The player was shown due to the disciplinary body of the national federation.

The match took place at the PJN Stadium in Fatorda.

The charges notice issued by the committee stated that Perosevic was “expired for using excessive force against the referee”.

“Perosevic has been reported to have violated Article 48.1.2 of the AIFF Code of Discipline,” the ISL media release said.

According to Article 50 of the Code, he faces “sanctions for serious breaches punishable by expulsion made against match officials”.

The player has been given until December 23 to respond by defending his actions.

Perosevic will be ineligible for selection as he automatically faces a one-match ban in SC East Bengal’s next match against Hyderabad FC on 23 December.
