Bengaluru FC and ATK Mohun Bagan played out a 3-3 draw in the Indian Super League on Thursday in a high-scoring fixture with six different goal scorers. The result extended BFC’s winless run to six games and ATKMB’s run to four games without a win. Subhashish Bose (13th) broke the deadlock early with a header in good position before Clayton Silva (18th) leveled the score with a penalty. Danish Farooq (26th) scored his first goal of the competition to send the Blues into the lead, but Hugo Baumos (38th) equalized for the Mariners.

Roy Krishna (58th) also came into the scoresheet as he converted a penalty in the second half but Prince Ibara (72nd) equalized with his second goal of the season.

Sunil Chhetri started off the bench, while Aashiq Kuruniyan was roped in in a more aggressive role. ATK Mohun Bagan started on the front foot and conceded a goal in the first seven minutes to offside.

After relentless pressure, Bose gave his team the lead by clinching a corner and passing the ball past Gurpreet Sandhu.

Within minutes of conceding the goal, BFC were awarded their third penalty of the campaign when Liston Colaco brought down Silva inside the box. Brazil stepped in to level the game and calmly converted from the spot.

Just before the half-hour mark, the scorer again turned provider as Farooq found his first goal in the Hero ISL with a header from Silva’s corner in the back of the net.

After the drinks break, ATKMB scored against the run of the game with a fully weighted pass to Hugo Baumos along with Krishna and the attacker stepped the ball past the goalkeeper with his left foot.

Ajith Kumar and Hugo were shown a yellow card each before the teams went into the break. The start of the second half was more cautious from all sides.

Referee Crystal John noticed a violation by Prince Ibarra in the box and awarded a penalty to ATKMB which was easily scored by Roy Krishna just before the hour mark. The villain then becomes the hero as Ibara scores with a powerful header from a corner taken by Roshan Norem.

Mainly set-piece situations from both teams led to a flurry of attacking opportunities, but the tie was settled on three goals each.

Four minutes were added after the regulation period but neither team deserved to lose and shared points after a great contest.
