Islanders in Scotland save US couple’s wedding after belongings go missing: report

Florida couple’s flight to UK diverted to Philadelphia

Photos from a special wedding on the Scottish island of Skye are winning hearts on social media. The kindness and support of these islanders to the American couple, who wanted to fulfill their goal of marrying in the Highlands, is what made the “imperfect” marriage so remarkable.

A user named Grouse Beater shared a picture on Twitter on Friday.

“Brigadeoon Happy Ending. Amanda and Paul Rissell planned a Sky wedding for two years, but their plane from America was delayed; they arrived the night before their wedding belongings went missing. The islanders club together Done and they got some kit! All right that ends well. (Photo RW),” the caption reads.

After their flight is delayed and diverted, Amanda and Paul Rissel arrive with their wedding rings and flowers the night before their big day, BBC informed of.

Sky wedding photographer Rosie Woodhouse, who snapped beautiful pictures of the couple’s wedding, took to social media and posted a request for assistance. The dress and lehenga were available till the next morning, the outlet added.

According to BBCAmanda, who was on the verge of giving up, said, “Our completely imperfect marriage was only possible because of the wonderful people Rosie and Skye have.”

“Luck had a hand in our happy day because the local Broadford primary dinner lady, Theresa, was the owner of my dress and I am also a diner lady in the house.

Wearing this means even more to me, knowing it came from someone who loves and nurtures her students just like me.”

Things started to get tough when the couple’s UK flight from Florida was diverted to Philadelphia.

As a result, his 4,000-mile journey which included stops in London and Inverness was repeatedly delayed.

The couple was stranded at airports for a total of three days and their belongings went missing in the process, BBC Said further.

“We all had breakdowns along the way. It was delays, delays, delays,” said Paul Rissell, the man who is now officially Amanda’s husband.
