Kochi:

It is a court, not a circus or a cinema, a Kerala High Court judge said on Wednesday after one of the virtual proceedings was seen on camera without a shirt.

Justice Devan Ramachandran said, “What is this? What is going on? This is a court, not a circus or a cinema.”

The judge’s remarks came after he noticed that one of the attendees in the virtual proceedings in his court was not wearing a shirt.

Despite being pointed out to the wrongs twice, the person concerned delayed in taking action, due to which Justice Ramachandran said that he would remove such persons from the proceedings.

“I will be forced to remove people (from virtual hearings) if they come to hearings like this,” he warned.

After that the person concerned logged out.

The High Court has been conducting virtual proceedings since the outbreak of COVID-19 last year.
