A Station House Officer (SHO) of the Jammu and Kashmir police was shot near EidGah area in Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar on Sunday.
As per sources, the inspector rank-officer, identified as Masroor Ahmad, was shot at a time when he was playing cricket in the Eidgah field. Following the attack, the officer was immediately shifted to hospital for treatment.
The terror group The Resistance Front (TRF) has claimed responsibility for the attack. Initial investigation by the police has revealed that a pistol was used in the terror crime.
A case has been registered and the area was cordoned off.
