JEE office at IIT-Bombay confirmed, “The mark card of this candidate is not authentic.” His deception exposed, the candidate finally confessed that he had faked his results and had not taken JEE-Advanced, all this in a written apology to the school.
Cheating drew attention to the recent instances of such cheating in JEE exam. A JEE chairman said, “Students are going to the next level. In most cases there is huge pressure from home or from close friends and relatives and candidates are succumbing to such pretense.”
Complaints filed from IIT areas of Bombay (1), Bhubaneshwar (1), Kanpur (2) and Roorkee (2) against candidates for forging JEE (Main) report cards to enter JEE (Advanced) examination centers have been done.
