Jammu and Kashmir: An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Rajouri district on Friday morning. The encounter took place in Kesari area of Kandi Tole in Rajouri district, the official said.
“The encounter started in Kandi area of Rajouri,” ADGP Jammu Mukesh Singh said on Friday morning.
The gunfight started after a joint team of police and security forces received inputs about the presence of terrorists in that area.
After the security forces cordoned off the area, the terrorists hiding there started firing, which was retaliated by the security forces.
There have been several encounters between terrorists and security forces in the Union Territory in the recent past in which terrorists have been eliminated.
Two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Drach area in Vanigam Payeen Kriri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday.
On Wednesday, an infiltration attempt was foiled and two terrorists were killed along the Line of Control (LoC) in Machil sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
