Jammu: Arrested absconding after 17 years. Jammu News – Times of India

JAMMU: Jammu Police has claimed to have arrested a fugitive, who was evading his arrest for the last 17 years from an area under the jurisdiction of Thana Bahu Fort.
According to a police spokesperson, the presence of the fugitive was received at PP Bathindi following which various police teams of PS Bahu Fort under the supervision of SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abbas Jaffrey were constituted.”
“A team led by SHO PS Bahu Fort Insp. Nayat Ali and I/C PP Bathindi assisted by PSI Mohammad Younis Khande worked hard and with the help of various information finally arrested the fugitive, named Bashir Ahmed son Ghulam Mustafa resident of Narwal Bala Jammu.
The accused was evading his arrest since 2005 i.e. case registered under FIR No. 231/2002 u/s 307/341/147 RPC 4/25 Arms Act P.S. Bahu Fort in the case of 17 years and FIR No. 117/2005 I was desired. Section 382 and 341 RPC with Thana Bahu Fort.
“Further investigation in the matter is on.”
“The accused will be produced in the court today for further proceedings,” the police said.
