It is no secret that Jasprit Bumrah takes pride in his batting ability. From being a walking wicket, Bumrah has come a long way, especially in Test matches, offering resistance with the lower-order bat. The way Bumrah scored an unbeaten 34 in the famous Lord’s Test last year and shared an 89-run stand with lower-order batsman Mohammed Shami was evident.

Bumrah spends a lot of time batting in the nets and was making fun of his batting with Mumbai Indians pacer Sanju Samson ahead of their second IPL 2022 game against Rajasthan Royals at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai.

Bumrah and Samson, who were training on the eve of the match, were caught for a chat and Bumrah joked that he was planning to get his name on the sticker of his bat soon. The India pacer and Rajasthan Royals captain laughed right after Bumrah’s comment in a video shared by Rajasthan Royals.

“I want my name to be on the sticker of my bat, I have won a Test match with the bat,” Bumrah joked.

“JB,” Samson replied before continuing to banter in his training session.

Bumrah did not need to bat in the opening of Mumbai Indians against Delhi Capitals. The 5-time champion played an unbeaten knock of 81 off 48 balls from Ishan Kishan and scored 177 runs on the board but it was not enough as DC chased down the target in just 18.2 overs.

Bumrah had a forgettable evening with the ball as he was taken to the cleaners by the DC batsman. The star pacer conceded 43 runs in just 3.2 overs.

Sanju Samson, on the other hand, delighted the Mumbai Indians crowd with a 61-run victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad as Rajasthan Royals started their season on a grand note. Samson smashed 55 runs in just 27 balls, hitting 5 sixes and 3 fours to help Royals post a winning total of 211.

It will be Samson vs Bumrah when Mumbai return to winning ways in their second game against Rajasthan on Saturday.
