Law Minister S. Regupathi said on Friday that clarifications would be sought from those who have been accused. Justice Arumughaswamy Commission of Inquiry In the circumstances surrounding the treatment and death of former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa and the actions taken thereafter.

Speaking to reporters in Pudukottai, Mr. Regupathy denied that The commission’s report was being used for political purposes,

The minister said the commission was constituted to inquire into the circumstances surrounding the treatment and death of the former chief minister and bring out the facts.

The probe panel had admitted that Jayalalithaa’s former aide VK Sasikala, her doctor KS Shivakumar, IAS officer and then health secretary J. Radhakrishnan and former health minister C. Vijayabhaskar were “a mistake”.

The minister said the MLAs of DMK’s alliance partners had demanded that a criminal case should be registered. However, a departmental inquiry will be conducted into the matter and action will be taken thereafter.
