But nowadays people are happily keeping their complaints to me in the hope that their problems will be resolved soon. This is the Dravidian model,” said Mr. Stalin.

He also said that people got this hope because more than 70% of the petitions received under ‘Ungal Thogudhiyil Stalin’ during the election campaign last year were resolved by creating a separate department for redressal of grievances. “The problems which have not been resolved for the last 10 years have been resolved within 10 days of the DMK coming to power,” he said.

Mr Stalin said the government was working to strengthen the financial position of the state and would soon introduce a monthly cash assistance of ₹1,000 for women heads of families.
