JCB India launches fully electric excavator

New Delhi JCB India, India’s leading manufacturer of earthmoving and construction equipment, on Tuesday introduced the industry’s first fully electric excavator JCB 19C-1E at Excon, Bengaluru.

The organization has also launched a 22 Ton hydraulic excavator on the NXT platform which is specially designed for the Indian applications.

JCB’s natural gas gensets, 4 ton telescopic hander with G125 NG, articulated boom lift AJ48D and two new mini excavators for smart infrastructure, 35Z HD and 37C HD were also introduced.

“Innovation and sustainability have always been critical to our operations, and we continue to introduce products that significantly limit their impact on the environment. JCB 19C-1E The industry’s first fully electric excavators in India and is an integral part of JCB’s ‘Road to Zero’ initiative, a program we have been working on for the past few years,” said Deepak Shetty, CEO and Managing Director of JCB India.

The JCB 19C-1E is a zero-emissions machine and has four lithium-ion batteries that power the machine for a full day on a single charge. With a critical focus on safety and productivity, JCB’s 2GO system securely separates all controls as a secondary safety system. It is auto-idle and has auto kick-up redistributing power to preserve battery life. The machine is introduced after rigorous testing and verification.

“The machine has been extensively tested and has various built-in features that enhance safety and performance. With zero emissions and low noise, this new machine is ideal for infrastructure development and internal working in urban areas. “

The two mini excavators, 35Z HD and 37C HD, come with heavy-duty structures and easy maneuverability due to their compact size.

The natural gas genset launched by the company is designed to operate in extreme environments and has a small size. This significantly reduces CO2 emissions and reduces the carbon footprint by up to 6 tonnes per year.

“We have launched a natural gas powered genset that significantly reduces emissions. The range will be manufactured in India and will be exported worldwide apart from catering to the domestic market.”
