JDU unit of Dadra-Nagar Haveli and Daman-Diu joined BJP

New Delhi [India]Sep 18 (ANI): The Janata Dal-United (JDU) units of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu on Sunday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Delhi in the presence of party chief JP Nadda and national general secretary. BL Santosh.

16 members of the JDU unit joined the BJP, including the former state president of JDU.

The development came after the JDU formed an alliance with the RJD and others to form a ‘Mahagathbandhan’ (grand alliance) government in Bihar.

“JDU members from Daman and Diu and the entire state JD(U) unit today joined the BJP, against Nitish Kumar’s decision to quit the BJP which had spurred development in Bihar and opted for ‘Bahubali’, a corrupt and a dynastic party. For,” the BJP had said in a tweet last week.

Notably, few days back, majority of JD(U) MLAs in Arunachal Pradesh joined the saffron party and recently 5 out of 7 MLAs from Manipur joined BJP.

On 25 August 2022, JDU’s lone MLA from Arunachal Pradesh joined the saffron party in the presence of National President JP Nadda and Arunachal CM Pema Khandu.

With the merger of JD(U) MLA Techi Kaso with the BJP, the BJP is standing on 49 out of 60 assembly seats (MLAs). 8 out of 9 JDU councilors have joined BJP; Now the total number of BJP councilors has gone up to 18 out of 20.

Besides this, 17 out of 18 Zilla Parishad members (ZPM) of JD(U) joined the BJP. Now out of 241 ZPM, BJP is with 206 ZPM.

Moreover, out of 119 Gram Panchayat Members (GPMs) of JDU, more than 100 have joined BJP and with this the BJP GPM is around 6,530 out of 8,332 GPMs.
