Late market mogul Rakesh Jhunjhunwala’s wife Rekha and her family are the new entrants in Hurun’s global rich list for 2023 M3M. Not only this, the Jhunjhunwala family is the richest new member from the country in the list. The Jhunjhunwala family is one of the largest Indian investors and businessmen. The family manages its portfolio through asset firm Rare Enterprises.

From India, 16 new billionaires entered the list—two European countries comfortably ahead of Italy at the third spot, which added 9 new billionaires, and Germany, which added 8 new billionaires.
Rekha Rakesh is among 16 new people to join the list of billionaires from India tingling & family top the list. His company was in the Rare Enterprises List.
China tops the chart of new additions to Hurun’s list with 69 billionaires, followed by the United States with the entry of 26 new billionaires.
According to Hurun’s list, 24 Indian cities produced 187 billionaires. India ranks sixth in the world in terms of the number of cities from which billionaires come. City-wise, Mumbai, New Delhi and Bengaluru produced the highest number of billionaires in the rich list among the top 25 global cities.
As for Rekha, she inherited a portfolio of value stocks from her late husband Rakesh, who passed away in August last year due to health reasons. Rakesh was known as ‘Warren Buffet of India’. After her late husband, Rekha has been tweaking her portfolio, buying and selling several stocks on the spot. He is also an investor in the newly launched low cost airline Akaka Air.
As per Trendline data, Late Rakesh Jhunjhunwala’s portfolio is now taken care of by Rekha — holds 29 stocks with a net worth of 32,059.54 crore by March 22, 2023. Tata Group-backed Titan is the most valued stock in Jhunjhunwala’s portfolio, followed by Star Health, Metro Brands, Tata Motors and Crisil.
Rakesh’s portfolio closes at the end of December 2022 33,230.35 crores.
Meanwhile, Trendline data also showed that the net worth of Rekha’s own portfolio is 25,655 crores so far.
