Reliance Jio confirms that it has acquired 5G spectrum in India India To launch your 5G network services using different frequency bands. The telco on Monday announced that it has secured spectrum in 700MHz, 800MHz, 1800MHz, 3300MHz and 26GHz bands in an auction organized by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). The total cost of acquiring the right to use spectrum is Rs 88,078 crore for a period of 20 years.
“With its unmatched 700 MHz spectrum footprint, Jio will be the only operator to offer pan-India True 5G services with fast speeds, low latency and massive connectivity,” Jio claimed in its statement.
The 5G spectrum auction ended on Monday with 40 rounds of bidding by various telcos. Jio had driven the sector with its 4G services and had completed over 400 million users within six years of its official launch. And now, the telco is looking to establish a bigger footprint with its 5G services.
Jio says that its existing network and fiber network ecosystem will ensure that it can deliver 5G services in the country in the shortest possible time, without giving us a concrete launch plan.

Jio has acquired low-band, mid-band and mmWave spectrum, which promises seamless internet connectivity for consumers as well as businesses with deep fiber networks and indigenous technology platforms.
Jio will be the only telco to provide 5G internet connectivity using 700Hz spectrum footprint.
Jio has bought 700Hz and 800Hz bands in 22 circles.
Jio will pay Rs 7,877 crore with 7.2 per cent interest annually over the next 20 years.
