New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday conducted searches at eight locations in Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar, Sopore and Baramulla districts and arrested two more accused in a conspiracy case registered this month in the wake of killings of several civilians.
The arrested – Amir Ahmed Gojri of Srinagar and Saddat Amin @ Syed Arhan of Sopore – other arrested accused persons as well as terrorist associates or overground workers (OGWs) of various banned terrorist organizations and providing logistics and material support to terrorists. The relevant case registered by the NIA on October 10, 2021, deals with the commission of violent terrorist acts in Jammu and Kashmir and other major cities by cadres of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizb. related to the conspiracy. -Ul-Mujahideen (HM), Al Badr and their allies like Resistance Front (TRF), People Against Fascist Forces (PAFF) etc.
So far 23 accused have been arrested by NIA in this case.
The NIA said that electronic devices and incriminating jihadi documents/posters etc. were recovered in the searches conducted on Friday.
