JK: Mehbooba condemns murder of 19-year-old ‘hybrid militant’, says ‘no crime has been proved against her’

Mehbooba Mufti, the former chief minister of the then Jammu and Kashmir state, courted controversy once again on Saturday as she protested the killing of a 19-year-old who was declared a hybrid terrorist by the police. He also said that he was not worried about leaving his residence when asked about the notice issued to him to vacate.

Mufti said she was ready to leave her residence and it was not a big issue, but criticized how television channels were debating the issue of her residence and the murder of a 19-year-old youth named Imran Ganai. were not doing. Mufti further said that Imran was only an accused and no offense was proved against him, but the manner in which he was killed was condemnable. The youth was arrested by the police for allegedly throwing grenades and killing two non-local residents in Shopian and later declared him a “hybrid terrorist”. But, the day after his arrest, the police claimed that Imran was shot by another terrorist during an operation.

Mufti said that there were many other problems bigger than the issue of his accommodation. She went to Bijbehara in Anantnag with her daughter. He also paid tribute at the grave of his father, PDP founder and former CM Mufti Muhammad Syed.
