J&K: Wular Lake Festival organized in Bandipora to promote tourism. News – Times of India Videos

J&K Tourism Department organized Wular Mahotsav on the banks of Wular Lake in Bandipora district of North Kashmir. It was organized in collaboration with the Indian Army. It was inaugurated by Kashmir Divisional Commissioner Pandurang Kondbarao Pol along with senior police and army officials. The main objective of the festival was to encourage the local people and create awareness about the cultural potential of the Wular. The event showcased the extraordinary culture of Kashmir. Young artists especially girls and women performed local folk songs, dances and it spoke about the artistic abilities of Kashmiri youth. It included Sufiana music, qawwali, concerts by jazz bands, pipe band displays, roof dance, martial arts performances, Kashmiri chakri. All the local people witnessed this unique festival in Wular Lake. Wular Lake is the largest freshwater lake in Asia and it helps in promoting tourism in Kashmir.
