President Joe Biden has lunch with former President Bill Clinton on Monday as Democrats face long odds to maintain their congressional majority in November’s midterm elections – a position that the former president has held in office. Know your time well.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki declined to say what the pair would discuss, saying only that “I’m sure they will have a wider conversation.” Both Mr Biden and Mr Clinton praised former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright at her last week’s funeral. The lunch comes weeks after former President Barack Obama returned to the White House to meet with Biden and staff and attend an event to mark the tenth anniversary of the passage of the Affordable Care Act. Ms. Psaki also revealed on Monday that Mr. Biden and Mr. Obama had a private lunch last week as well.

Washington Post First informed of the meeting.
