London: Britain Will make electric car chargers mandatory for new buildings in England from 2022, as it moves away from high-polluting vehicles, Prime Minister Boris johnson Said on Monday.

The new law will create 145,000 new charging points per year and will also apply to major renovation projects.
“We will need new homes and buildings for electric vehicle charging points,” Johnson said at the annual gathering. trade industry federation (CBI).
The move is a step towards banning new sales of diesel and petrol cars in the UK by 2030, as part of efforts to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
Johnson wants Britain to lead the global effort to transition to net zero to help the economy recover from the pandemic.
“This is a critical moment – we can’t go on as we are,” Johnson said. “We have to adapt our economy to the Green Industrial Revolution.
“We have to use our huge investments in science and technology and we have to increase our productivity and then we have to get our way.”
There are currently around 25,000 charging points in the UK.
