Juniper Networks to upgrade Oil India’s data centre, campus network

New Delhi: State-owned Oil India Limited has selected US-based Juniper Networks to upgrade its data center and campus network.

The development comes after the recent cyber attack that disrupted the operations of companies in Assam.

In view of its vision of IT transformation and digital readiness, Oil India recognized the need to refresh its network infrastructure so that applications and services can be deployed and transferred from one data center to another, a statement from Juniper Networks said. to be transferred to the data center.

“With a flexible, high-performance Juniper IP fabric, Oil India will be able to automate key business and operational processes, thereby increasing its business agility and creating a more seamless experience for its customers,” the statement said.

Juniper’s ‘QFX5120’ series switches were deployed in data centers at Oil India’s headquarters in Duliajan, Assam, while the combination of ‘QFX5120’ and ‘QFX5110’ switches serve as a flexible campus core. Oil India also selected ‘EX4300’ series switches for its campus distribution layer and adopted spine-leaf architecture with ‘EVPN-VXLAN’ for campus core.

“With Juniper’s eVPN-VXLAN fabric, the Oil India team can efficiently build and connect to its primary data centre, disaster recovery data center and near campus core network, in an agile, seamless and secure manner. The network also supports the use of business process automation tools, which have helped teams reduce workloads and achieve faster turnaround times, resulting in a better service experience for their customers.”

Noting that security of critical infrastructure in the oil and gas sector is critical, it asked Juniper’s SRX 4200 Service Gateway, Director of Security and Junos Space Network Director to configure and manage application security, intelligence and policies across Oil India’s network. was chosen to do.
