Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte has described Liverpool as one of the best teams in the world ahead of Sunday’s match. Conte, speaking at the press conference before the game, praised Jurgen Klopp’s work and said he really respected the fact that under Klopp, Liverpool could potentially secure four major championships this season. Liverpool are currently in the FA Cup and Champions League against Chelsea and Real Madrid respectively and are also in the running for the Premier League alongside Manchester City.
They have already won the Carabao Cup this season.
Conte said Spurs should not be intimidated when facing Klopp’s side and that they should be good with and without the ball if they want to win the game.
“Of course we know that Liverpool are in really good form at the moment,” Conte told reporters on Thursday.
“We have to be very good without the ball, good defensively, but if we want to win, we have to be very good with the ball. We need to play a good game, not be afraid of pressure.”
Tottenham Hotspurs are also in the running for the top four spots in the Premier League which will secure Champions League status for next season.
Conte heaped praise on Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, whose team is bidding for a historic quadruple trophy this season.
“Jurgen Klopp is doing a great job with this team, especially for an English team coming to the end of the season to stay in the running for all competitions, I think it’s incredible,” Conte said. said.
“You can see the Liverpool players. They run a lot and they don’t get hurt much. They are doing a fantastic job. Their enthusiasm is 200% and you don’t feel tired at the moment,” Conte said.
“We need to go out there and play our game. We are in the race for a place in the Champions League and we have to find a way to score points in every game. We are playing against one of the best teams in the world. Let’s prepare like that,” he added.
