During the protest, BJP MLA Ravindra Chavan demanded the administration to declare 27 villages as drought-hit areas as KDMC is currently supplying water to these areas through more than 200 water tankers and if the administration considers the area as drought-hit. If it is declared drought-hit, then the administration will have to solve it. Issue on priority basis.
However, MNS MLA Raju Patil demanded that KDMC and MIDC should resolve the water issue of the area on priority basis by taking some immediate steps for future due to increasing urbanization in the area. The state government should make a plan to build a new dam in the area on the lines of Barvi dam so that such problem does not arise in future.
When asked by journalists whether the two parties are coming together on the issue?
