Kamal Haasan, Yami Gautam and others condole the death of CDS Bipin Rawat

The Indian Air Force said Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika and 11 others aboard an Indian Air Force helicopter died in an accident near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday. Confirming the incident, the Indian Air Force tweeted: “An IAF Mi-17V5 helicopter, accompanied by CDS General Bipin Rawat, met with an accident today near Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. An inquiry has been ordered to find out the cause of the accident.” Following this unfortunate incident, celebrities from the Indian film industry took to their social media handles to pay tribute and offer condolences.

Popular actor Kamal Haasan condoled Rawat’s demise and wrote, “My deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims.”

Bollywood actress Chitrangada Singh wrote, “Pained by how the horrific plane crash unfolded in Tamil Nadu. My heartfelt condolences to the brave families of our jawans in uniform. Sending prayers and strength to the families of CDS Bipin Rawat ji and all the soldiers on board.
