According to an official release, NCRTC MD Vinay Kumar Singh monitored the progress of widening of Kanwar Marg and construction of Rapid Rail Depot and Administrative Building.

Every year during the auspicious Hindu month of Shravan, which usually falls in the month of July-August, thousands of Lord Shiva devotees known as ‘Kanwars’ visit Hindu pilgrimage sites such as Gangotri and Gaumukh in Uttarakhand and Haridwar. Huh. The Kanwars bring ‘Gangajal’ from the holy river Ganges and offer it to Lord Shiva in the temples. During this journey, the Kanwariyas carry ‘kanwars’ or small bamboo sticks with two earthen pots hanging at either end, carry it on their shoulders and balance them throughout the journey. This yatra is a month long, with saffron-coloured devotees usually seen in saffron-coloured clothes.
