Bengaluru:

The Karnataka Assembly on Thursday unanimously passed a resolution on the border row with Maharashtra, pledging to protect the interests of the state.

The unanimous resolution condemned the “manufactured” border dispute by Maharashtra.

The resolution moved by Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai was adopted by voice vote.

“There is no compromise on matters related to Karnataka’s land, water, language and interest of Kannadigas. The sentiments of the people of Karnataka and the members (of the Legislative Assembly) are one of the subjects, and if it is affected, we all stand united.” Committed to taking it on.” Constitutional and legal measures to protect the interests of the State.

Condemning the border disputes unnecessarily created by the people of Maharashtra, this House unanimously passes a resolution that it is committed to protect the interests of the State,” the resolution read out by Bommai.

Earlier, replying to the debate on the border issue in the House, the CM said that it is the wish of the people of Karnataka that even an inch of the state’s land will not be allowed to go.

“We will do everything to protect it, we will take all necessary measures in this direction,” he said.

Condemning the “conduct” of Maharashtra political leaders on the border issue, Mr. Bommai said, “If they continue like this, we will take legal action.” She also called Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut an “agent of China” and a “traitor”, hitting back at his statement that they would enter Karnataka the way China has “invaded” Indian territory.
