He further said that ‘Stree Samarthya Yojana’ will also be launched this month, adding that the objective of this scheme is to empower five lakh women for self-employment.

“It will be for women only. Women will be given household financial assistance based on their needs and expenses to run the family. It can be Rs 1,000, 2000 or 3,000. The program will be planned and announced,” he said.

Hitting out at the Congress’s promise of providing 200 units of free power a month in the state if voted to power, Bommai accused the party of pushing power supply companies (ESCOMs) in the state to the brink of collapse due to debt, while in power in the past.

He said, “Our government revived ESCOMs by investing around Rs 21,000 crore in the power sector to keep them alive. Now, in desperation because they will lose, they are announcing such things.” His promise

“They (Congress) will not come to power, they cannot do that. That’s why, they are making such promises.”
