Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai slammed for calling ethical policing a ‘natural action-reaction’

The Chief Minister of Karnataka, Basavaraj Bommai, has been critical of his recent comments on incidents of ethical policing in the state. On Wednesday, media persons sought Bommai’s reaction for taking two men, BJP MLA Umanath Kotian, outside a police station to a police station after they were released on interim bail, and Bommai said moral policing was a “natural action”. And there’s the reaction. ‘ When feelings get hurt.

Bommai said, “It is a very sensitive matter. We all have to take responsibility in the society. There are many emotions and one should behave in such a way that such feelings are not hurt. When feelings are hurt, naturally, there are actions and reactions.”

He further added, “With the responsibility of the government to ensure law and order, everyone needs to be responsible, everyone should cooperate. The youth should ensure that the sentiments of the society are not hurt. This is a society.” It is an issue of

This recent comment by Bommai on ethical policing is in stark contrast to his earlier statements. After such an incident came to light in Bengaluru in September, Bommai had earlier said that his government would strictly deal with incidents of ethical policing.

Bommai’s recent remarks have drawn strong criticism not only on social media but also in political circles. Former state chief minister and Congress leader Siddaramaiah in a series of tweets questioned Bommai’s ability to maintain law and order in the state.

“You have acknowledged your inability to maintain law and order by some anti-social elements justifying moral policing. Please resign and save Karnataka. Innocent women are being targeted in Karnataka and you are protecting anti-social elements.”

Siddaramaiah also asked whether the Chief Minister was planning to dissolve the police department and hand over law and order to the RSS or whether he was planning to establish a Junge Raj.

Responding to this, Bommai called Siddaramaiah a ‘symbol of anti-Hindu’ on Twitter.

“When you were the chief minister you became a symbol of anti-Hindu by killing Hindu activists, as Tipu Sultan did under his rule, I don’t need to learn administration or policing from you, we have a law and order deal. Competent police force. There were ducks sitting under ur government,” he tweeted.

“I said that every action in our society will have a reaction and the law will take its course, unlike your tenure Hindus we have been killed in the right left and center, you need to keep a mirror for yourself, God knows you How are you going to sleep with blood on your hands,” he said.
