The Chief Minister of Karnataka, Basavaraj Bommai, has been critical of his recent comments on incidents of ethical policing in the state. This recent comment by Bommai on ethical policing is in stark contrast to his earlier statements. After such an incident came to light in Bengaluru in September, Bommai had earlier said that his government would strictly deal with incidents of ethical policing.
Bommai’s recent remarks have drawn strong criticism not only on social media but also in political circles. Former state chief minister and Congress leader Siddaramaiah in a series of tweets questioned Bommai’s ability to maintain law and order in the state.

Siddaramaiah also asked whether the Chief Minister was planning to dissolve the police department and hand over law and order to the RSS or whether he was planning to establish a Junge Raj.
Responding to this, Bommai called Siddaramaiah a ‘symbol of anti-Hindu’ on Twitter.
“When you were the chief minister you became a symbol of anti-Hindu by killing Hindu activists, as Tipu Sultan did under his rule, I don’t need to learn administration or policing from you, we have a law and order deal.
