Amit Shah appreciated the achievements of Karnataka government in the meeting

New Delhi:

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Monday met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and discussed developments in the state, which was under pressure to reshuffle the cabinet soon.

Mr Bommai, who is on a two-day visit to the national capital, summarized the achievements of his government in the last six months.

“At the same time, the CM discussed the situation (in Karnataka) with Amit Shah ji,” an official statement said.

Mr Bommai also presented a study conducted by ISAAC on the benefits of pro-people schemes on the poor, it said.

In the meeting, Shri Shah lauded the achievements of the State Government.

Earlier during the day, the chief minister said he would discuss the cabinet reshuffle with top party leaders, provided he gets an appointment.

“These issues can be discussed if the central leadership gives time. I cannot share immediately. I can share after the meeting and before (going to Bengaluru),” he told reporters. If they confirm I will meet them.

Mr Bommai is under pressure to expand or reshuffle his cabinet soon. However, according to sources, this will be done after the assembly elections in Uttarakhand, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Goa and Manipur.

At present, the Karnataka cabinet has 30 ministers including the chief minister, while the sanctioned strength is 34.

The chief minister plans to meet BJP national president JP Nadda on Tuesday to discuss the political developments in the state.
