Mysuru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai did not attend events at T Narasipur, but his ministerial colleague ST Somashekar, who is also the minister in charge of Mysore district, faced anger. Congress The activists waved black flags at him during his visit.
Bommai T was to inaugurate various religious programs at Tirupura Sundari temple in Narsipur taluk. In his absence, Somashekar launched him. When Somashekar was on his way to the event, a group of Congress workers on Kollegal Road waved black flags at him. The police tried to stop them.
Aware of trouble, the police had beefed up security at the minister and the event. The Mysore city police had also beefed up security at the events in the presence of the district minister.
The minister, however, questioned the continued protests by Congress workers, saying the government had acted against the man who had thrown eggs at opposition leader Siddaramaiah’s convoy in Kodagu last week and Bommai spoke to the former CM. Talking to reporters, Somashekar said that Bommai has called up Siddaramaiah and told him that the government will not allow such incidents to recur. But Congress workers have continued their protest, which is not right.
