Karnataka government is running on the model of inclusive development: Governor

Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot also lauded the state for launching various schemes to attract investments.

Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot on Friday said that the state government is following the model of inclusive development with an aim to navigate the path of progress to achieve the goals set for the next 25 years of ‘Amrit Kaal’.

Addressing the joint meeting of the State Legislature, Gehlot said that the government has implemented the Cow Slaughter Prohibition Act to protect the animal wealth.

The last session of the 15th Karnataka Legislative Assembly began on Friday.

In the 11-day long session, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, who also holds the finance portfolio, will present his government’s last budget on February 17.

The Governor said that ‘Goshalas’ have also been constructed to protect the weak, sick and orphaned animals, which the farmers could not maintain.

He discussed in detail the welfare of farmers and SC/ST and health care measures taken by the government.

The governor also appreciated the state for launching various schemes to attract investments.

Gehlot said that the ‘Raita Vidya Nidhi Yojana’, which benefits farmers, has also been extended to weavers, agricultural laborers and other categories.

The governor said, “My government is committed to the welfare and development of farmers, laborers, poor, weaker sections and the underprivileged and is at the forefront of development.”

Gehlot said, “My government is following the model of inclusive development and I am confident that it will successfully navigate the path of progress set by our honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the next 25 years of Amrit Kaal.”
