Udupi: Two out of five students who approached court over hijab controversy Government PU College for Girlscollected their hall tickets for II PU EXAMINATION But at the last minute they were not allowed to write the exam at the center as they wanted to appear wearing hijab.
Alia and Resham, second commerce students of PU, were to write the business studies paper on Friday. He had taken the hall ticket from Government PU College for Girls in the morning. Later, the two reached Vidyadaya PU College in Udupi, where they were allotted the exam center around 10.45 am. Though she entered the exam center, the authorities did not allow her to write the exam wearing a hijab.

The college administration tried to convince the girl students about the High Court order and asked them to take the exam without wearing a hijab. However, she refused to write the exam without wearing a hijab.
Rudra Gowda, principal of Government PU College for Girls, said the college will issue hall tickets even if they reach the last day of the exam.
It may be recalled that two of the six students, Almas and Aaliya Asadi, had tweeted to Primary and Secondary Education Minister BC Nagesh and Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai for permission to write the exam.
