In a video message going viral on social media, the nun has also said that her life is in danger.
In her complaint to the police, the 45-year-old nun said that she has been associated with Mercy Convent for the last 24 years. Since 1998, he has served in various convents across India.
The nun joined the Provincial House of Mysore in March this year after working as the headmistress of a school for the hearing impaired in Kodagu district since 2018.
She said in her complaint that on May 31, her relative Bindu, along with a driver, tied her up, assaulted her, snatched her mobile phone and gave her an injection, which made her unconscious, she said in her complaint.
The nun further alleged that when she became numb and weak due to the injection, she was dragged to St Mary’s mental hospital, and the driver touched her private parts.
She said that she did not have the strength to resist her sexual advances. After he left, another person came and repeated the act, he alleged in the complaint.
“When I reported this to Sister Ann Marie, she threatened me that they would make me mentally unstable. The next day Deepa also said that if you tell these things to others then the same will be repeated. Won’t be able to see outside. Ever in the world,” the nun alleged in her complaint.
In the video, she said, “I am sharing this video because I am in danger for my life. I have identified many activities happening here. Immoral activities, illegal activities, sexual harassment and two murders.”
“I have told people outside about it. They are ready to kill me for it. So, I am sending it to you. I am worried about my life. They can kill me. Or they can kill me. Might get admitted to a mental hospital. I might be missing too. If that happens, I hope for your help,” the nun said.
He later said that there are around 35 deaf children at Mercy Convent School in Gonikappa town of Kodagu district where they were allegedly victims of sexual assault and several other atrocities.
The nun was appointed as the headmistress of the school in 2018. She has alleged that she was shifted to the convent in Mysore after raising these issues with the congregation.
“When I told my seniors here, they started targeting me. I had a swollen shoulder because of the injections given to me by them,” he said.
Sister Margaret of Mercy Convent alleged that the nuns of the Belthangadi diocese of the Syro Malabar Rite were “uncooperative, agitated and very aggressive towards their superiors”.
Margaret alleged that the nun recorded a video with allegations against her own religious congregation and other nuns with the intention of tarnishing the convent’s image and blackmailing them.
