Karnataka Police gave drugs to the kingpin of bitcoin scam: Congress MLA | Bengaluru News – Times of India

Bengaluru: A big turning point in Karnataka bitcoin scamFormer minister and Congress MLA Priyank Kharge on Friday accused the police of giving mind-altering drugs to the kingpin. Shri Krishna Ramesh Aka Sriki in police custody and demanded a probe by a sitting Supreme Court judge.
“The father of accused Shriki, in his application before the court on January 11, 2021, said that the police officers are giving mind-altering drugs to his son who is in police custody. The medicine is available only with prescription and not available over the counter. is,” she said.
When the judge questioned the accused Shriki on this, he replied that the police had given him drugs in custody. Keeping this in view, the court ordered medical examination of his blood and urine samples.
“The police who was supposed to check her blood and urine samples at Victoria Hospital took her to Bengaluru Medical College and Hospital. Importantly, the police have requested the accused Sriki to wash her stomach. Can anyone tell us Why was this being done. Requested,” he questioned.
The medical institute says that since the hospital is being converted into a COVID centre, testing of blood and urine samples was not possible and sent it to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL).
The officials wasted an entire day in the process. Priyank Kharge said that instead of getting his blood, urine sample tested, the police registered a case under another case (crime number 9/2019) and handed him over to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) custody.
“At every stage, the police have worked in favor of the main accused, Shriki. By not testing him for drugs, the police have destroyed the evidence. They have called the linemen to conduct the Mahajar process which is something about bitcoin. Don’t even know. The CID investigation into the bitcoin scam is a comedy.”
Police have said that they have recovered 31 bitcoins worth Rs 9 crore. “However, the confiscated bitcoins have gone into the wallet of the police. There is information that 187 bitcoins that were found during the operations of the mahajar have disappeared and this needs to be investigated,” he added.
“This is not Digital India. No doubt, it is an international scam. Doesn’t Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai who was the then Home Minister know this? All are involved in scams, involvement of police is also found. There is no prudent inquiry being conducted into the scam. I demand a probe by a sitting Supreme Court judge.”
Priyank Kharge had earlier said that if the bitcoin scam is properly investigated, a third chief minister in Karnataka would indirectly point to Bommai’s exit.
Bommai, who was present in New Delhi, said that though he wanted to discuss, Prime Minister Narendra Modi showed no interest and asked him not to get upset about all this.
Priyank Kharge said that Chief Minister Bommai’s statements are like an invitation to compromise. “As they are, both Congress and BJP leaders are involved and let’s sit for a compromise,” he said.
