Karnataka: There are many similarities in front of CM Basavaraj Bommai for the fourth victory in Shiggaon, it is caste calculation

Shiggaon assembly constituency has a population of 37 per cent Lingayat community. It has 20 percent Panchamasal Lingayat community and 17 percent forward class Lingayat Samaj. Bhopal Bommai is from Sadar presentation of Lingayat which is forward class. In Karnataka this performance is around two per cent of the population.

In Basavaraj Bommai’s constituency, Muslims constitute 28 per cent, Kurba (OBC) 11 per cent, Jhalki caste (SC) 11 per cent, Jharkhand Tribe (ST) 6 per cent and other castes 7 per cent.

Corruption allegations against the government

The Panchamasali community is not happy with Bommai and has done a dirty deed to his house. This community has demanded 15 percent nutrients. BJP MLA Basavan Goud Patil, who is leading Panchamasli Lingayats, is a staunch opponent of Yatnal Basavaraj Bommai. He aspired to succeed Yediyurappa.

End of mass base in Muslim society
SC, ST are angry with Basavaraj Bommai because of anti-conversion law. His scheme image also reaches. Apart from this, 27.2 percent of the state muslim voters, who supported Bommai, are now scattered. Due to communal violence in the state and anti-minority statements, Bommai’s mass base has almost disappeared in the Muslim society. There are 9 percent voters in the state who are more or less in support of the Congress.

The Bommai government is accused of taking 40 percent commission, for which neither Bommai nor his party is able to answer till now.

Mohammad Yusuf Savanur is contesting from Shiggaon assembly constituency on behalf of Congress. The Congress has fielded a different Savanur against Bhopal Bommai. Earlier there was talk on Mohammad Yusuf Savanur Hubli Dharwad Central seat. From there the current MLA Jagdish Shettar went to BJP Congress, then there Congress made Shettar its candidate. Savanur was not happy with this decision of the Congress. After this Congress gave him ticket from Shiggaon.

Bommai has been winning continuously since 2008 from Shiggaon constituency.
Basavaraj Bommai has been winning from Shiggaon constituency since 2008, although the margin of his victory is not very wide. He got 63780 votes in 2008 while Congress candidate got 50918 votes. In 2013 election, Bommai got 73007 votes and Congress candidate got 63504 votes. In the 2018 elections, he got 83868 votes while his main rival got 74603 votes.

Basavaraj Bommai, son of Karnataka’s former handicapped SR Bommai, won the Shiggaon seat in the 2018 assembly elections by a margin of around 9,260 votes. Bommai started his political career with the Janata Dal and was a member of the Karnataka Legislative Council twice (in 1998 and 2004) from the Dharwad local jurisdiction. He also served as the parliamentary secretary of the district and deputy leader of the concerned.

Bommai left JDU and came to BJP
Basavaraj Bommai left the Janata Dal (United) in 2008 and joined the BJP. He was elected MLA from Shiggaon seat in Haveri district in the assembly elections in the same year. After this, he retained his seat in the 2013 and 2018 assembly elections.

Bommai has done a lot of development work in Shiggaon. Mr. Shiggaon is the MLA from the area, which has increased the prestige of this area.
