CN Ashwath Narayan, Minister of Electronics, Information Technology said, “Karnataka is actively working with the industry towards expanding the size of the economy and increasing the per capita income (per capita annual earnings) of every person in the state.” , science and technology, higher education, skill development, entrepreneurship and livelihood.

“As of now, better earning per capita is confined to certain sections of the society. Government and industry must work together to make a difference in the lives of people and enterprises by helping them earn better. Only innovation can help achieve this,” he told the audience at ‘Inoverage 2022: Engineering Imagination’, a summit organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry in Bengaluru on August 25.

Entrepreneurs and individuals need incentives from the government in terms of technological innovation and their implementation in the society. “We are bullish about it. We will be very strict on these from now on as we are trying to catch up very fast on innovation in various sectors to maintain Karnataka’s position in the global markets. But there are many challenges before us, and we are trying to fix them all,” the minister said.

Integrating multiple systems lying in silos across multiple industries and government departments was one of the biggest challenges surrounding innovation. “Integrating systems and eliminating isolation will bring clarity and confidence to the technological innovation ecosystem. All these changes along with prudent investments will help us develop innovation across the state. Innovation-led future planning is our focus,” he said.

Kamal Bali, Vice President, CII Southern Region and President and MD, Volvo Group India, said, “An innovation mindset, coupled with emerging technology, is the key to maximizing business results. It is important to integrate purpose, innovation and collaboration. Innovation is best when the barriers between idea and execution are removed, and the focus is on objective insight,” Bali said.

Arvind Kumar, Director General, Software Technology Parks of India said that data will contribute immensely to innovation. “Today, the focus is on creating an organized pool of data, which is our greatest asset to AI and machine-to-machine learning,” he said.
