Karva Chauth: Special sweet to eat after a full day’s fast

This can be troublesome for those who fast for the whole day on Karva Chauth, but as they say, ‘End is good, all is well’ and what better way to end this auspicious day than if it is right? Not with sweets? These sweets are delicious and can be made in very less time. So why not try these recipes?

  • full cream milk

method:

  • Heat ghee in a deep bottomed pan.
  • After this, add vermicelli and fry till golden brown. Once done, remove from heat and keep aside.
  • Then boil milk in a pan.
  • Once done, add chopped nuts and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Also, mix the sugar in the milk till it mixes well.
  • Grate the khoya and put it in the milk.
  • Keep cooking till the mixture thickens.
  • Proceed to add the vermicelli and cook for 5 minutes or until no liquid remains.
  • Add cardamom powder and mix well.
  • Lastly, garnish with chopped nuts and enjoy cold or hot!

Badam Gulab Rabri

material:

  • Almonds (unpeeled)
  • Milk
  • sugar free
  • pistachios, chopped
  • cardamom powder
  • Lost
  • rose water
  • some varieties of saffron

method:

  • First of all, heat a pan and cook the milk till it reduces to half.
  • Next, make sure you turn down the heat.
  • You have to crush and mix saffron in milk and then let it cook on low-medium flame for 5 minutes.
  • Then add almonds, khoya and sugar free in it. Mix it well and cook for about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add pistachios and cardamom powder and mix well. Let cook for 2 more minutes.
  • Take it off the flame and add rose water to it. Mix it well and let it cool down a bit.
  • Garnish this dish with chopped pistachios, dry fruits, jamun or dried rose petals.
  • Voila, you’re done!

Vermicelli Kheer

material:

  • macaroni
  • desi ghee
  • milk full cream
  • Almond
  • Sugar
  • Cashew
  • Cardamom

method:

  • Wash the vermicelli thoroughly and put it in a pan with ghee.
  • Run it for 2 minutes.
  • Add milk and sugar and mix well.
  • Simmer the mixture for about 1 hour, until the milk has reduced by half and of a creamy consistency. During this, keep stirring in between.
  • Add almonds and cashews. Sprinkle ground cardamom.
  • You can enjoy this dish both hot and cold.
