After the Congress won the Karnataka assembly elections 2023, BJP national spokesperson Amit Malviya on Sunday said keeping Rahul Gandhi at bay seems to have worked for the Congress from Himachal to Karnataka.

Siddaramaiah, 75, and party’s troubleshooter Shivakumar, who won from Kanakapura by over a lakh votes and turned 61 on Sunday, are both frontrunners for the chief minister’s post. Congress has returned to power in Karnataka on its own after 10 years. Siddaramaiah was the Chief Minister from 2013 to 2018.
First meeting of Congress Legislature Party(CLP) will be held on Sunday at 5.30 pm, according to AICC in-charge of Karnataka, Randeep Surjewala. A decision on the name of the new chief minister is likely to be taken in the meeting.
