‘Keep Rahul Gandhi away from working for Congress’: Amit Malviya on Karnataka election results

After the Congress won the Karnataka assembly elections 2023, BJP national spokesperson Amit Malviya on Sunday said keeping Rahul Gandhi at bay seems to have worked for the Congress from Himachal to Karnataka.

He mocked former Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s first reaction Karnataka Victory Called it the defeat of ‘crony capitalists’.

“The irony died a million times when Robert Vadra started giving exclusives to media channels when Rahul Gandhi declared that Congress’s Karnataka victory was a defeat of ‘crony capitalists’… Is Rahul Gandhi off the mark? Seems to have worked for Congress from Himachal to Karnataka!” Amit Malviya tweeted.

The Congress on Saturday made a spectacular comeback in Karnataka, ousting the BJP from its only southern bastion with a comfortable majority in a morale-boosting victory that will be key to reviving its electoral fortunes ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

decisive victory of the Congress in karnataka assembly elections The 38-year-old anti-incumbency trend continued in Karnataka even after an aggressive pro-poor campaign led by mass leader and former chief minister Siddaramaiah and KPCC president DK Shivakumar. The state has never voted a party to power since 1985.

Siddaramaiah, 75, and party’s troubleshooter Shivakumar, who won from Kanakapura by over a lakh votes and turned 61 on Sunday, are both frontrunners for the chief minister’s post. Congress has returned to power in Karnataka on its own after 10 years. Siddaramaiah was the Chief Minister from 2013 to 2018.

First meeting of Congress Legislature Party(CLP) will be held on Sunday at 5.30 pm, according to AICC in-charge of Karnataka, Randeep Surjewala. A decision on the name of the new chief minister is likely to be taken in the meeting.
