Kerala CM writes letter to PM Modi, include tableau in Republic Day parade

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking his intervention to include Kerala’s tableau in the upcoming Republic Day parade.

Drawing the Prime Minister’s attention to the non-inclusion of the tableau of Kerala in the parade, the Chief Minister said that the proposed tableau of the southern state has a social message and relevance in the contemporary social scenario.

The letter said, “Our tableau included the image of a great philosopher and social reformer, Sree Narayana Guru, who led Kerala’s renaissance movement in the last century. His thoughts and works have gained not only national but also worldwide attention. attracted.”

It states that the Guru fought orthodox practices that led to division among humans and preached the philosophy of universal brotherhood, liberty and the right to education for all.

Seeking the immediate intervention of the Prime Minister to include the tableau in the parade, the letter said, “The message that this tableau can send to the young generation of the country is very valuable.”

Also, he told the Prime Minister that the tableaux of Kerala have won the honor more than once in the past.

Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has written to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin that a major controversy has arisen over the proposed exclusion of tableaux of two states from Republic Day.
